Meet Linda Beeker: Life in Balance Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)
We are excited to introduce Linda Beeker! She is our brand new Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
Tell us about yourself, Linda:
I have been married to Scott Beeker for 17 years and we have a 12 year old son and a 10 year old daughter.
When I had my first child, I wanted to do everything I could to keep him healthy. I began researching nutrition and learning how to improve health. Unfortunately, as you probably well know, there is a lot of conflicting and misleading information out there. Four years and a second child later, I was blessed with the opportunity of going back to school to learn about nutrition from the ground up (literally, since that’s where the nutrients come from). I went back to school and learned about Evidence-Based Nutrition and how to research trends in order to find out if they are legitimate.
As I learned about the power of nutrition, I also began noticing just how many people I know and love are suffering from conditions that can be improved through nutrition. So after graduation, I decided to take a chance and design a private practice directed at helping individuals feel better.
I have found that it is not about looking better for most of my clients (although we all enjoy that added benefit). It is about having more energy, reducing symptoms, reducing medications, and preventing disease. My clients want to have enough energy and strength to take care of and play with their loved ones.
What are you most passionate about? I am passionate about the power of nutrition to prevent and reverse disease! I am in awe of the way God made our bodies and the nutrition He provided us!
How is this passion fueling your part of the ministry at Life in Balance? I am so excited about becoming part of the Life In Balance team. It feels like God did some maneuvering to get me here and I cannot wait to get started. At Life In Balance I will be combining the power of nutrition with power of prayer to help women enjoy their God-given freedom. I will be expanding my current private practice to include group programs, healthy treats, and a teaching kitchen. (Linda is accepting new clients now!)
Share one of the most helpful books you’ve ever read on your journey (other than God’s Word): While I don’t agree with everything presented in this book, the resource that originally connected nutrition with God for me, was
None of These Diseases: The Bible’s Health Secrets for the 21st Century by S. I. M.D. McMillen (Author), David E. M.D. Stern (Author), and it will always have a special place in my heart.
